Limeade

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar

  • 1 cup (240 ml) water

  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh-squeezed lime juice

  • 6 cups (1440 ml) water

  • Crushed ice

Directions

  • Make a simple syrup from the sugar and 1 cup of water: dissolve the sugar in the water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Make sure to dissolve all of the sugar, because even a grain of sugar can cause the sugar to seed and the solution will become a solid. Allow to cool gradually to room temperature
  • Mix the fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and 6 remaining cups of water until combined.
  • Serve over ice.
